The beauty of imperfection has always fascinated me. I am attracted to its raw unrefined energy. From a sloppy hi-hat in a hip hop instrumental to the broken and rundown wall that becomes a canvas for graffiti, the most authentic expressions of human experience are often born in imperfection.

In my work, I am inspired to bring that element of rugged, raw, broken and off beat we find out there, in here. Using the imperfection of a layered and textured background to highlight the inherent beauty of watercolor. This series is a celebration of my love of hip hop and the imperfections that can come together to create a defined form.
